Kindness and compassions are natural characteristics of our species. Though it’s mysterious and counter-intuitive in societies that live according to the gospel of personal identity and individual interest, there are countless daily examples of people doing nice things for each other with no reward in view, and spontaneously.
Three years ago, Sarah Browning embarked on a mission to counter the predominantly one-sided, pessimistic views provided by the media. She launched a programme to help raise awareness of the kindness that exists in the world
"The Time for Kindness programme is not about denying the bad things that go on in the world, but it is about saying that’s not the only story. Sharing stories of the kindness we see around us changes the narrative we have about the world and about ourselves within it. The more we ‘see kind’, the more we notice it and the better we feel."
In this episode, Sarah explains how she brings her message to the world of business and elsewhere. Start small she says, and offers a practical way to lift your spirits each day, just by observing.
